OXFORD - Firefighters from four towns quickly knocked down a bedroom fire at a house on Allen Hill Road on Sunday night. No one was injured, but the smoke and fire, which was contained to a mattress in a bedroom, caused $8,000 to $10,000 in damage to the home owned by Bradley Edwards, fire Chief Scott Hunter said. It appears the fire started after a pillow fell onto a nearby burning candle, which in turn lit the mattress on fire, he said. Hunter said firefighters from Oxford, Norway, Paris and Mechanic Falls responded to 142 Allen Hill Road about 8:45 p.m., quickly extinguishing the blaze. The mutual aid response is standard in a structure fire, the chief explained. Neither Edwards nor another occupant were in the bedroom when the fire started, Hunter said
