ONCE Upon A Mattress-a musical adaptation of the fairy tale classic The Princess and the Pea played to appreciative audiences at the Naparima Bowl, San Fernando and most likely, a star was born.
The production was staged by the Presentation College Mixed Choir under the musical direction of Cynthia Lee Mack, theatrical direction of Dexter Crawford and sported a cast of about 40.
Overall, the production was well executed by the cast of young thespians who managed to adequately portray the many nuances running throughout the text.
The casting choices were quite apt leading to the emergence of the star of the show Shenelle Jeanville who played the delightfully uncouth marshland princess Winnifred.
It was evident that Jeanville's near farcical portrayal of the character was one which could only be derived as a result of natural inclination
