There's many theories as to it's cause.But now, a New Zealand researcher claims he's put a stop to nearly all SIDS cases in his country, and he wants to help parents here do the same thing. Dr. Jim Sprott has a simple solution, that he says is 100 percent effective, and it lies in a baby's mattress. He recommends parents cover the mattress with a special wrap, and then layer it with cotton bedding.So far, there has not been a large study backing Sprott's theory.
